#ModelCrushMonday: Danielle Zarb-Cousin

I can’t believe I haven’t written about Danielle before! She’s a total MTF fave.

One of my favourite things to do in life is to stalk Danielle’s Instagram. In a glamourous life sense, Danielle is the polar opposite of me, and I can live vicariously through her. She wears make up and dresses up in different outfits all the time and looks so glam, including heels with every look! I recently went out for the first time in ages but refused to be parted from my thermal polo neck and consequently sweated my way through the night.

But modelling-wise, Danielle has actually been a bit of an inspiration to me, along with a few other Bookings girls. They work so hard! Danielle has worked through some really bad illnesses, travelling to un-glamorous parts of the world for long, long days of ecom and always gives it her all. Someone recently told me that with me, he’d never met a model who took their work so seriously and worked so hard but in truth that’s because I was inspired by models like Danielle and Emily.

Best of all, though, is the fact that Danielle is a serious animal welfare supporter. She’s vegan, she loves her staffie Bella sooooo much (I’ve met Bella and she’s gorgeous), and Danielle even walked off a job for a really big client when the last outfit of a long lookbook shoot was fur. I’m anti-fur, but I wonder if I’d have just donned that coat for the sake of keeping the client, agency and my bank balance happy? Not Danielle, and more power to her elbow for that because that’s brave and principled.

In fact, our love of animals led us to be booked for a charity job for the PDSA. It was with Tim Vincent of Blue Peter fame. Of course we said yes to modelling for an animal charity but this wasn’t quite rolling around with dogs with Rankin. We had to find a decent outfit in their Ealing branch and do some pretty cheesy poses outside, with a rather grumpy Tim. The pictures tickle me!

Danielle is a hard working, brilliant, beautiful model who adores animals and has an adopted staffie. What’s not to love?!
