#ModelCrushMonday: Daniella Alexander

Daniella Alexander is what the new generation of models looks like. This look is global and it’s uncategorisable, unplaceable, and it’s like a tonic to the fashion industry.

It’s weird when I think about it, because a model like Daniella would have had less of a problem making it in modelling in the 70s and the days of Iman, Bethann and Farida, than in the last couple of (extremely white) decades.

But times are changing. We’re seeing such a huge upsurge of proud, outspoken models like Ebonee Davis speaking for better diversity. We’re seeing fewer reductive boxes, and it’s so exciting. Gender, race, age and size are being (slowly but surely) less binary and segregated.

Anyway, that’s not why Daniella is this week’s #ModelCrushMonday. It’s cos she has bags of attitude, a versatile look that can take on edgy as well as classic beauty and she’s cool. With insanely long limbs and natural grace (I had a bit of the former, not the latter as a new face), she’s quite clearly gonna be a success!
